Age Concern Counties Manukau Inc’s Vision is Older People Thriving in an Inclusive Society for all ages.

Our Mission is Providing services, information, education, advocacy and support by working together for the rights and wellbeing of older people.

Age Concern Counties Manukau Incorporated - Ngaa Take O Ngaa Kaumaatua/Kuia O Te Rohe O Manukau - is committed to serving the needs of older people, Koroua and Kuia. We are one of a nationwide network of 35 members, branches and associates affiliated to Age Concern New Zealand (ACNZ). We provide services, information, advice, support, education and advocacy to older people in response to local needs in the region of Counties Manukau from as far south as Mercer, north to Mangere, east to Kaiaua and west to the Awhitu Peninsula.
Age Concern Counties Manukau strives to enhance the health and well-being of older people by promoting quality-assured activity, information, support and advice; and ensuring that older people in our region have opportunity for choice and continued independence. We are active and vocal on issues affecting older people, taking every opportunity to work towards our vision of an inclusive society where older people are respected, valued, supported and empowered.

Older People are an essential part of whanau.  Older people thriving in an Inclusive Society for All Ages, can only be achieved if we include and value our elders, cherish their contribution to society and respect their human dignity. 

We provide an increasing range of services to meet the local needs of older people in our communities.
Services Include:

  • Comprehensive information and resources
  • Elder Abuse and Neglect Prevention Service (EANP) casework and education and awareness
  • Accredited Visiting Service (AVS) (Volunteers always welcome)
  • Handyman Fieldworker Service
  • Health Promotion Programmes (HP)
  • Agents for Total Mobility Transport Scheme (TM)
  • Community Offices 10 different locations throughout the month (help with form filling, TM assessments, bookings for programmes, advice and information – bookings essential)
  • Events to celebrate (IDOP) the International Day of the Older Person
  • Fixed term Counsellor in (Manurewa Otara/Papatoetoe)
  • Positive Ageing Network (network of organisations working with older people)
  • The Vintage Store – Charity shop at 3/154 Kolmar Road Papatoetoe (good quality donated goods and volunteers always welcome)
  • Triple A programme – Active Ageing Action Programme for individuals to plan for their future (valuable investment for employers wanting to invest in their employees)
