About The Organisation
Age Concern Counties Manukau Incorporated - Ngaa Take O Ngaa Kaumaatua/Kuia O Te Rohe O Manukau - is committed to serving the needs of older people, Koroua and Kuia. We are one of a nationwide network of 34 members, branches and associates affiliated to Age Concern New Zealand (ACNZ). We provide services, information, advice, support, education and advocacy to older people in response to local needs in the region of Counties Manukau from as far south as Mercer, north to Mangere, east to Kaiaua and west to the Awhitu Peninsula.
Age Concern Counties Manukau strives to enhance the health and well-being of older people by promoting quality-assured activity, information, support and advice; and ensuring that older people in our region have opportunity for choice and continued independence. We are active and vocal on issues affecting older people, taking every opportunity to work towards our vision of an inclusive society where older people are respected, valued, supported and empowered.
We provide an increasing range of services to meet the local needs of older people in our communities.
Services Include:
- Comprehensive information and resources
- Elder Abuse and Neglect Prevention Service (EANP)
- Accredited Visiting Service (AVS)
- Handyman Fieldworker Service
- Health Promotion Programmes (HP)
- Agents for Total Mobility Transport Scheme (TM)
- Community Offices (help with form filling, TM assessments, bookings for programmes, advice and information)
- Events to celebrate (IDOP) the International Day of the Older Person
