Starship Paediatric Dermatology

Description

Dermatology is a branch of medicine dealing with the skin and its diseases.  A doctor who specialises in this is called a Dermatologist.
 
Starship Children's Health runs a combined general paediatrics and specialist dermatology clinic for children referred by their GP for dermatology related conditions.
 
There is also a tertiary specialist paediatric dermatology clinic for children who are identified as having more complex problems.
 
The service also provides laser treatment for facial port-wine stains.

Referral Expectations

If you have been referred by your GP you will be seen either in a combined clinic staffed by paediatricians and dermatologists or in a general paediatric clinic initially, especially if a rapid appointment is required. If it is more complex you will be referred on to a specialist dermatologist.
