Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) is a branch of Women’s Health which includes high-risk pregnancy where the mother or baby or both has a problem. For most women the expectation is that pregnancy will be a happy time without problems and most will not need MFM services. However for the women who do these services are provided throughout New Zealand.

NZMFMN Waikato 

New Zealand Fetal Medicine Network (NZMFMN) is based at Waikato Hospital.

Referrals to Fetal Medicine need to be made by your midwife (LMC), doctor (GP) or Consultant.

Each referral is dealt with on an individual basis and an appointment is made with consideration of the patient's needs. 

You will be advised of the appointment either by phone or by mail. We are always happy to discuss appointments and will try to fit in with you.
