Angiogram

An X-ray procedure used to visualise the blood vessels and blood circulation.  It can detect abnormalities in blood flow within the legs, abdomen, neck or brain.  The arteries cannot be seen on a normal X-ray, so a solution called contrast is injected, which causes the arteries to show up like a road map.  The examination is performed by a doctor who specialises in radiology.
