We do not have emergency services, but are open 24 hours a day.
Franklin Memorial Hospital is located in country-like surroundings with rural views. As the name suggests, the Hospital (opened in 1923) was a war memorial bequested to the town. It was originally a general hospital before becoming an Obstetric Hospital in 1956.
Since then it has become a long stay unit.
Franklin Memorial Hospital has 28 staff covering 18 beds (12 long stay, 6 ATR and palliative care).
General Hours: from 11am until 8pm - outside of these hours can be arranged with the Charge Nurse.
Palliative Care: at any suitable time.
A coin-operated food dispenser is located in the main entrance of the hospital. Reception does not provide coins to exchange.
The local New World grocery store is located a short drive towards the main Waiuku town centre. Restaurants, cafe bars and takeaway shops are also located within the local town centre.
From the Southern Motorway you will need to take the Pukekohe/Drury off-ramp and follow the signs to Waiuku. The distance is approximately 22kms from the off-ramp and is about a 20 min drive.
There is no access to any public transport services.
Free parking is available for all visitors and staff.
