Patients referred for admission to the inpatient Adult Rehabilitation service after an acute episode are assessed by a rehabilitation consultant or geriatrician to determine the appropriateness of their admission to the service. These patients may be referred from other services in Counties Manukau District Health Board, including the community services and Auckland District Health Board.
