Continence Management Nursing Team
The service provides nursing assessments and advice on continence management and supplies for people from 4 ½ years of age who have bowel and bladder problems. This is carried out in conjunction with GPs and other appropriate health professionals.
A full assessment of the conditions may include:
- Bladder diary
- bladder scan
- bowel assessment.
A treatment plan for continence problems may involve:
- Bladder retraining
- ongoing education
- appropriate product recommendation
- bowel management programmes
- recommendation and regular review of product
- education and support.
Assessments are carried out in clinics and/or client homes
Self referrals are accepted with a nominated GP.
