What is Individualised Funding?
Individualised Funding (IF) is a way of paying for support services which lets disabled people directly manage the resources they are allocated for disability supports following an assessment by a Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) organisation. IF is currently limited to home and community support service allocations. IF can be looked at as a way of buying HCSS.
What this means
Activities for people using IF can range from choosing caregivers and service delivery plans to employing their own care providers, managing the payment for services of these providers and managing all aspects of service delivery. The arrangements allow the disabled person increased choice and control over how and when they use their allocated money and who provides them with support.
If you believe the Individualised funding may be of interest to you, please discuss further with the Capital Support Service Facilitator appointed to assist you.
