Since August 2008 The Big Black Dog Message Board and Chat Room (TBBD) website has been offering people living in NZ with mental illnesses an opportunity to engage with others, to learn, share, help and stay safe.
TBBD is an independent, privately offered, unfunded MH Peer Support Network, free to join and use in anonymity. TBBD is a Moderated Internet Peer Support Community.
As a Peer Support Network, TBBD does not offer Crisis or other Emergency Support nor does it employ or have available professional staff.
TBBD is an additional tool in our personal safety plans, not a substitute for professional MH advice or services.
