Ora Toa PHO
The vision of the Ora Toa PHO is ‘THAT THE PEOPLE WE SERVE WILL ENJOY OPTIMUM HEALTH AND WELLBEING’. Our objective is to provide quality health services that address and meet the needs and aspirations of the peoples we serve as we:
- Continue to provide Hauora services that are affordable, accessible, appropriate and of high quality for the benefit of Ngati Toa and the wider community
- continue to develop innovative health programmes to meet the various and changing needs of the target population
All our services are free or low cost, with flexible service provision. We have 4 Medical Centres, Community outreach service and a Primary Mental Health and Addictions service.
Ora Toa PHO provide the following services;
- GP’s and practice nurses
- oral health/dental chair
- outreach immunisations
- nutrition and physical activities
- Whana Ora Toa Health Unit Tamariki Ora/Wellchild
- asthma specialist nurses
- injury prevention which includes car seats
- Kaupapa Maori alcohol and other drugs
- problem gambling
- primary mental health – psychology/mental health nurses
- Tuakana – youth mentoring, whanau life skills
- residential disability unit.
