Primary Health Organisations
Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) are funded by District Health Boards to provide primary healthcare services for the enrolled population within their geographic location. There are two PHOs in the Waitemata region which coordinate the services employing staff directly or through provider members.
- ProCare Networks Limited
ProCare supports more than 1200 GPs and general practice staff throughout the greater Auckland region, enabling them to provide quality, community-based healthcare in their GP clinics.
"We aim to support our enrolled practices with all the tools and help they need to work more efficiently, and to improve the health of the communities they serve.
We support our practices by providing access to innovative clinical programmes, primary care services and community health promotion initiatives; we offer them access to 24 hour nurse triage services; we advocate on their behalf to Government and district health boards (DHBs); and we take a leadership role to co-ordinate their activities during crises or pandemics."
