Welcome to Starship Children’s Health. Starship was New Zealand's first hospital built exclusively for children and young people and their health needs. It is located on the Auckland City Hospital site, Park Road, Grafton, Auckland, New Zealand.

Cut-off age for referral to Starship Children's Health

The standard age at which a child is switched from Starship to adult service is their 15th birthday. However, in some cases where the child has had a long relationship with the SSH team, they may be cared for at Starship for a longer time - this decision is made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the team. Any referrals for patients over 15 should be directed to adult services.
