Accounts Receivable Office - Hospital Fees/Charges
The Accounts Receivable Office is the department that handles and manages the hospital charges to non-residents.
New Zealand citizens or those who have obtained permanent residence are entitled to publicly funded health care.
If you were not born in New Zealand and have not previously shown evidence of residency you should bring your passport and all permit pages for verification on your first visit to the hospital.
If you believe you may not be eligible for free healthcare and do not hold current health insurance, please note that the cost of an emergency care visit is $462.57 plus the cost of any additional tests. If you need to be admitted to hospital, charges for ward stays are approximately $800.00 per day plus the costs of any treatments.
Location: The Accounts Receivable Office is located at the end of the Rainbow corridor near the Carpark Office.
Opening Hours: 9.00am - 4.00pm (Monday to Friday)
Please Note: For alternative emergency care you may have the option of using other external accident and emergency services outside of the CMDHB Hospital Services. To find out the costs please contact each individual clinic nearest to you.
