Kidz First Outpatient Care - General Paediatrics

Hours

Monday to Friday 08.30 - 16.30 excluding public holidays.

Description

Kidz First Outpatient Care is located at MODULE 4 ,  Manukau SuperClinic™ , with some outreach clinics also available.

Outreach Clinic Locations:
260 Botany Road, Howick
Tuakau Road, Pukekohe

The Module 4  Manukau SuperClinic™  team consists of a Clinical Nurse Manager, a paediatric nurse and administrative staff.

Kidz First Outpatient Care clinics are led by specialist paediatricians who also provide supervision for paediatric doctors in training, medical students and paediatric clinical nurse specialists.

Referrals are received from a number of sources, usually General Practitioners (Family Doctor) , although in certain circumstances referrals are accepted  from other health and education professionals.

Referral Expectations

Manukau SuperClinic™  Referrals and Appointments Centre receives all referrals.

These are then forwarded to Module 4.

A paediatrician reviews all referrals which may be accepted or declined.

If a referral is accepted the following occurs:

  • an appointment is offered
  • is placed on a waiting list
  • is managed as a 'virtual' appointment with a clinical plan of care being communicated to the referrer and/or caregiver.

Your Family Doctor / Referring Health Professional  is advised of the outcome for all referrals - whether accepted or declined.

Appointments:

Once a suitable appointment time is agreed with the parent/caregiver a letter is sent to confirm appointment details.  A reminder letter is sent the week before the appointment and either a reminder phone call or text is sent to the parent/caregiver prior to the appointment.

Please ensure the Family Doctor / Referring Health Professional has the patient's correct contact details.

It is important that if the patient is unable to attend an appointment with Kidz First Outpatient Care the parent/caregiver informs Manukau SuperClinic™ at the earliest opportunity. This appointment can then be offered to another patient.
