The goal of physiotherapy is for all individuals to have the best quality of life possible. After assessing a person’s potential the physiotherapist, working with the patient and their family/whanau, develops treatment goals that aim to return the individual to as independent a state as possible. The physiotherapy process involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, and treating an identified problem.
Physiotherapists are autonomous health professionals and will determine the appropriateness of input for a patient. This may mean some referrals are declined or not seen within the timeframe you may have anticipated. All members of the physiotherapy team are happy to discuss any decision made.
