NURSING SERVICES - Aged Residential Care Clinical Support Service (ARCCSS)
This service offers Nurse Specialist Support for the Residential Sector within the ADHB catchment area.
Two Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) with expertise in Gerontology provide clinical support, nursing assessment, problem solving and education based upon the needs of the resident. They ensure that aged care facilities' access to specialist advice and services is as easy as possible.
Each aged care facility is assigned to one CNS who will visit each facility quarterly.
ARCCSS is also available upon referral request and the CNS will visit the facility on receipt of a referral.
Additionally, all residents on interim care under the orthopaedic non-weightbearing scheme shall be monitored on a regular basis during their period of non-weightbearing and the CNS will liaise with the Orthopaedic Department regarding their progress.
