Comprehensive Pain Assessment

A comprehensive pain assessment involves being assessed by a pain specialist, a clinical psychologist and either a physiotherapist or occupational therapist. These sessions are run over a three hour period and at the end of the process, a case conference is held and a management plan is put together. Copies of this plan are sent to the relevant personnel including the patient. Further referrals are also made if deemed appropriate.
