The Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) Planning and Funding Team, together and in partnership with providers, aim to achieve the best possible health and independence for people throughout metropolitan Auckland.
The Team interact with the health community, actively look at emerging evidence and best practice, analyse data and undertake health needs assessments to better understand the health needs of their population and maximise the efforts to lift the health of people living in Auckland City.
This information assists in the development of plans (including the Strategic Plan and District Annual Plan, plus specific Health Improvement Plans) which enables the ADHB to direct activity and funding.
All plans involve working closely with stakeholders, providers and the community to ensure the effective delivery of quality healthcare services within available funding. For information about the Auckland DHB planning and accountability documents (Strategic Plan, Annual Plan, Statement of Intent) please contact Julie Helean on ext 4390 or DDI (09) 638 0390.
The Funding Team funds a wide range of health service providers for services provided to the population of Auckland. The services funded by the District Health Board range from small, specific service agreements (contracts) for individual services to multi-million dollar agreements for large complex services such as older persons care, or mental health. Planning and Funding Managers maintain an ongoing relationship with all its providers, and ensure the efficient management of these agreements for the ADHB population.
