About The Network
The Eating Difficulties Education Network (EDEN) is a community agency that was established in 1990 in Auckland. The agency’s mission is to promote body trust and satisfaction, size acceptance and diversity on an individual and societal level. EDEN provides information, support, referral, groups, library services and counselling for those struggling with an eating or body image difficulty and their loved ones. EDEN also provides health promotion initiatives in the community including training health professionals and teachers, speaking in workplaces and other community organisations, working in schools, organising community events and publishing a newsletter four times a year. EDEN operates on a self-referral basis and the fees for services are charged on a sliding scale to ensure they are affordable and accessible.
