IUCD Insertion
An Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) is inserted into a woman’s uterus to prevent pregnancy. Depending on the type of device, it will need to be changed after between three and five years.
One particular brand of IUCD is often used to reduce heavy bleeding during periods.

Dr Alison Copland and Dr Lauren Brenner can insert IUCDs and Mirenas.
You will require an initial consultation to discuss the procedure, benefits and risks and have swabs taken. Your fitting appointment will then be booked at a time agreed with the Doctor.
Initial consultation - usual fees apply.
Fitting visit (30min appointment) $130.00
If you are having a Mirena fitted there may be the additional cost for the Mirena itself. Some women may be funded for Mirena - discuss this with your Doctor at the first visit.
