Mahitahi, is an iwi-whaanui organisation, and supports wellness and recovery programmes for taangata whai ora.
We provide our services with a tikanga and kaupapa Maaori approach, in the spirit of "mahi tahi" that emphasises a spirit of togetherness and is further supported by our organisational whakatauaki; "ma te mahi tahi ka whiwhi ora" ; "people together nurturing wellness" to:
- Decrease the prevalence of mental illness and mental health problems within the community.
- Increase the health status, and reduce the impact of mental disorders on tangata whaiora their whanau, hapu and iwi.
