Mr Eric Swanton is a New Zealand trained orthopaedic surgeon and holds a current position at North Shore Hospital as an orthopaedic consultant, with his subspecialties being foot and ankle surgical procedures, hip revisions and hip replacements.
He attended Auckland University Medical School graduating in 2006 and was accepted on the orthopaedic specialist training program in 2011. Eric successfully completed his specialist training and was awarded the Ross Nicholson Memorial prize for research. He was admitted to The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2015.
Mr Swanton undertook further specialty training fellowships in England. He attended one year at the prestigious Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital working as a fellow consultant focusing on hip revision and replacement surgery. He then completed a year of foot and ankle specialty training at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool an academic level one centre.
He has taken written a number of research papers and book chapters including a contributing chapter on Ligamentous Injuries of the Foot & Ankle in DeLee, Drez and Miller’s Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
