Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine
Our Department provides elective and emergency anaesthesia services to North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital. We also provide acute pain management to inpatients after surgery or trauma and during labour. There is now also a chronic pain service.
The Department is accredited by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists to provide training and experience for doctors training to become Specialist Anaesthetists.
Other services performed include: perioperative medicine, preanaesthetic assessment clinics, education for medical student and other allied healthcare workers, educational meetings, audits and quality improvement.
