Private Service

Mercy Angiography Unit

Description

Mercy Angiography  is New Zealand's busiest private angiography facility specialising in the diagnosis (angiogram) and treatment (angioplasty, PCI) of coronary artery disease.
We also conduct  many other cardiac procedures including electrophysiology (EP) studies, radiofrequency ablations (RFA), pacemaker insertions and TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) also known as percutaneous aortic valve replacements (PAVR).

In addition we perform a number of diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures.

The Mercy Angiography clinical team consists of specialist cardiologists and radiologists, highly experienced nurses and radiographers, who will ensure the highest standard of care for patients.

Mercy Angiography has played an important role in introducing new interventional cardiology technologies and techniques into New Zealand. We were the first facility to conduct Percutaneous Aortic Valve Replacements (PAVR) in the Asia Pacific region, and are one of only two centres in the region certified to perform PAVR independently.

Referral Expectations

Your GP will refer you to a cardiologist who will decide if you need a coronary angiography procedure and will discuss options available with you. The cardiologist’s staff will help you make contact with the Angiography Unit. Usually angiography can be carried out within a few days or immediately as an emergency if needed.
