Kidney Problems

Kidney (or renal) failure is when a patient’s kidneys are unable to remove wastes and excess fluid from the blood. This can occur as a complication of a variety of illness, and if it is severe, may require dialysis to replace the function of the kidneys. If the underlying illness is able to be treated, most kidney failure that occurs in intensive care will get better.
