Provision of Translated Mental Health Information
Translated mental health information is provided upon request. If the translated information is not available in New Zealand, appropriate links to the international websites will be provided as alternative resources.
Advice on Asian Community Resources
Advice on Asian community resources such as activity groups, English classes and counsellors is provided. If needed, the Asian Service Development Coordinator can link individuals to appropriate community resources.
Advice on Mental Health Services
The Asian Service Development Coordinator can provide advice on how to access mental health services. Information on the different kinds of mental health services that are available in Counties Manukau Health including inpatient services, outpatient services and Counties Manukau Health funded non-governmental organisation (NGO) services can be provided on request.
Advice on Asian Mental Health Support Groups
Advice on specific Asian mental health services or support groups such as Chinese mental health psycho-education group and Chinese peer support groups is provided.
In addition to the above, the Asian Service Development Coordinator can work with different social agencies and community groups such as churches and charity organisations to enhance the social support and mental health services access among the Asian community.
