Birthcare

Description

We have free and private fee-paying options available.

Birthcare is a purpose built maternity hospital that caters for women who expect to have a normal labour and delivery, and for all postnatal stays (including post-caesarean section).

Our new birthing suite has 4 birthing rooms, 3 of which have pools. Postnatally, we have 12 twin share rooms with ensuites and 21 private single rooms with ensuites, 4 of which have been upgraded to premium rooms with queen size beds.

We now have a third level which will house 4 antenatal clinic/assessment rooms and our management and account offices.

 

Maternity care services provided by Birthcare include:

  • pregnancy, birth and parenting education
  • facility and midwife support for labour and birth
  • postnatal inpatient care
  • lactation consultancy
  • breast pump hire
  • full LMC midwife care



Tours of Birthcare are run on Thursdays at 2:30pm and Saturdays at 2:00pm, 2:30pm & 3:00pm. No appointment is necessary.

View our information DVD which you are also able to watch on the DVD channel of the TV at Birthcare.

Birthcare also has a maternity hospital in Huntly.

Referral Expectations

Booking is done antenatally. Registration forms  are available through your Lead Maternity Carer or they can be downloaded from our website.

Charges

Please see our schedule of charges.

Check your medical insurance as your policy may contribute towards a private room in Birthcare. You will need to pay upfront and claim back from your insurance company.

PAYMENT TERMS

1. All centre services are paid at the completion of service.

2. All amounts outstanding are to be settled on check out.

3. Patients are expected to check out by 11.00am on the relevant day.


ALL PRICES ARE INCLUSIVE OF GST AND ARE CORRECT AT TIME OF PUBLICATION (November 2012) AND MAY BE REVISED FROM TIME TO TIME AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF BIRTHCARE AUCKLAND LIMITED. PLEASE CONTACT US SO THAT WE MAY ADVISE YOU OF ANY CHANGES TO THE SCHEDULE OF CHARGES.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are from 2.00pm - 8.00pm. 
Partners, children and grandparents may visit 8.00am - 8.00pm.

Private room visiting hours are from 8.00am to 8.00pm.

New mothers need to rest. Please remember this when inviting friends to visit.

Refreshments

Birthcare has a resident chef on site providing meals and morning and afternoon teas.

We cater for people with special diets; please indicate on your registration form when you book.

We also have mini kitchens on each floor, where you and your visitors are able to make yourselves a cup of tea or coffee at any time.

On level 2 in the lounge we have a coin operated coffee machine and a vending machine with healthy options.

Public Transport

The "Link Bus" stops outside the Blind Institute on Parnell Road at regular intervals.

Parking

Underground parking is available for visitors. Please use the park side entry and, once parked, take the lift to level 2. If you have an antenatal clinic appointment, take the big lift to Level 3. Our birthing suite is on Level 1.

If the car park is full, we have some parking outside the building, otherwise there is 'pay and display' parking on Titoki Street.

After hours you may enter the car park via the ramp by pressing the button and speaking to a staff member. There is also an after hours button at the main entrance on the ground floor.
