Hussain is very passionate about preventing vision loss due to glaucoma. He uses advanced technology for the diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma and provides the latest in medical, laser and surgical care for his glaucoma patients. He is a highly trained and experienced cataract surgeon and finds it extremely rewarding restoring vision in patients who have cataracts. He also provides comprehensive ophthalmic care for common eye diseases including acute eye problems and emergencies. Hussain is an approved provider for all major health insurance companies in New Zealand.

In addition to private practice Hussain is a Senior Lecturer in Ophthalmology with the New Zealand National Eye Centre, University of Auckland. He’s actively involved in glaucoma research, supervision of research fellows, as well as the teaching of medical and optometry students. He has published numerous research papers in peer reviewed scientific literature and regularly gives presentations at local and international ophthalmology meetings. He is involved in the teaching of trainee ophthalmologists in glaucoma and cataract surgery as well coordinating the continuing medical education programme for ophthalmology at ADHB.

Hussain specialises in glaucoma and cataract surgery. His mission is to provide excellent eye care in a personal, friendly and caring environment.
