Mr Giri Mahadevan
Interests
Giri Mahadevan is currently working as a consultant vascular surgeon at Middlemore Hospital and South Auckland Clinical School, University of Auckland. He also performs private practice at Vascular Surgical Associates, Gilgit Road Specialist Centre. Giri grew up in Wellington and obtained his undergraduate training at Otago University. Post graduate training (Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons) was performed at various hospital postings throughout New Zealand and Australia.
He practices all aspects of vascular surgery including:
- Aortic aneurysm repair – to replace weak & swollen blood vessels
- Carotid surgery – for stroke prevention
- Endovascular – use of stents instead of open operations
- Peripheral arterial bypass surgery – for leg cramping, ulcers and gangrene
- Varicose vein – surgery, endovenous and sclerotherapy of problematic veins
