Bryan Parry is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Auckland, with his public hospital practice based at Auckland Hospital. He trained in General Surgery in New Zealand, gaining his Fellowship in 1987.
He has practiced surgery in Thailand and St Mary's in London before returning to Auckland in 1982 undertaking research towards an MD on the energy needs of surgical patients.
Since then he has specialised in Colorectal Surgery working in Dunedin, Singapore and the North Shore before being appointed Professor and Head of Department of Surgery at Auckland in 1995.
