Description

Even for the most able retiree, there comes a time when help is needed with the basics of day-to-day living. Family members often step in to provide support, however there is always a limit to how much time can be committed and the level of care they can provide.

The Avenues offers 30 beds for rest home and hospital care in the Bay of Plenty.

Based on a more integrative homestead model of care, this is vastly different from the traditional institutional model offered in many care homes. Residents live in smaller groups of no more than 15 care suites, with each group having their own kitchen, dining room and lounge area reflecting a modern home environment.

The boutique-like care home, with its friendlier layout, creates a much more intimate and personalised environment for the residents and their families. Each room enjoys a spacious bedroom, its own ensuite bathroom and access to the village's private courtyard garden.

Fees and Charges Description

In this care home, the accommodation supplement pricing ranges from a minimum of $53.30 to a maximum of $102.50 per day. This pricing covers additional comforts and facilities over and above the standard provision for residential care.

Each room is larger than a standard room. Each room has its own ensuite and heat pump/air conditioner.
Each room has a 40 inch TV and built in wardrobe. Each room has sensor technology and an electric armchair.
Most rooms have access to the ouside - either onto a deck or onto the courtyard.
Some rooms have ceiling hoists and some are co-joined - handy for married couples.
There are 2 large living areas including a kitchen and living room - with a communal TV. Instant iced water and boiling water available from both these kitchens and families are encouraged to 'help themselves'.
