At Te Korowai Trust, proudly based in Whakatū (Nelson), we are dedicated to empowering whānau through a holistic, kaupapa Māori approach. We walk alongside individuals and families to strengthen resilience, wellbeing, and self-determination.
Our wide range of services includes:

Financial Mentors – providing guidance and tools to build financial confidence and security.
- FASD Lead – delivering specialised support, advocacy, and awareness for whānau impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
- Superskills / SuperGrans– building everyday life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and household management.

E Tū Whānau Community Lead – promoting positive whānau values and strong community connections.

Kairangahau ā-Whānau – helping whānau understand their strengths and challenges through whānau-led planning.

We know that reaching out can sometimes feel overwhelming, so our mobile service brings support directly to your home. Our team is here to help in the spaces that feel safest and most familiar to you.
While our kaupapa is rooted in serving Māori whānau, we extend our aroha and services to all in our wider Whakatu/Tasman community

We’re always happy to welcome you into Te Korowai Trust. Our doors are open Monday–Thursday, 9.30am–4.00pm, and Friday, 9.30am–2.00pm.
To make sure one of our kaimahi is available to greet you and offer the right support, we encourage you to contact us first – either by filling out the referral form on our website or giving us a quick call. Our team is often out in the community or in hui with whānau, so this helps us ensure you’re cared for without delay.

Our registered and experienced social worker will work with whānau that have been identified as having tamariki/children at risk, using a holistic, kaupapa Māori approach to service delivery. This includes: assessing the needs of children/tamariki at risk in the context of their families/whānau, schools and communities. developing and managing social work plans in partnership with families/whānau. early identification, intervention and education to reduce child abuse and family/whānau violence in the Nelson/Tasman region.
