This service is designed for people with long-term illnesses who may need support with their medicines. An assessment is used to identify the things that affect their ability to take medication as prescribed. Pharmacists work together with the patient to address each issue. The pharmacist is able to assist you with managing your medications and can coordinate your medications so that your prescription repeats happen all at the same time and therefore require only one trip to have your prescriptions refilled. They can also provide you with a reminder service (via text message, email or phone call) to let you know when your next supply of medications is ready for collection. If you are having difficulties managing your medicines (e.g. forgetting to take them), please ask your pharmacist whether this service is right for you.

Sleep is important for healthy brain function and emotional wellbeing, physical health, energy and appetite regulation, healing and repair, immune system function, productivity, work performance and safety. Not sleeping enough, or sleeping badly, can affect your reaction times, increasing the risk of accidents around the home, at work, out and about and on the road. Researchers have also linked a lack of sleep to depression, suicide and risk-taking behaviour, increased blood sugar levels, obesity, heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. Talk to our pharmacist about how we can help you sleep better. We offer a range of solutions including sleep hygiene, sleep restriction, retraining sleep, sleep apps, and brain synch audio programs. Under certain restrictions, our accredited pharmacists can offer short-term medication to help restore your sleep cycle.

Sleep apnoea occurs when muscles relax and block your airways while you are asleep, causing you to stop breathing for short periods of time. This impacts on the quality of your sleep, often leaving you tired with poor concentration the next day. Sleep apnoea can also increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. Signs of sleep apnoea are loud snoring, episodes where you stop breathing during sleep, gasping for air during sleep (which may wake you), and/or a morning headache. A simple overnight test can determine whether you have sleep apnoea and whether a CPAP (continuous positive airways pressure) is appropriate for you. Appointments are needed for this service.
