Description

Hetherington House is a Charitable Trust governed by a committee of volunteer trustrees.
The 50 bed facility caters to Resthome, Hospital and secure Dementia level care for the elderly.
The facility is set amongst secure, landscaped grounds.

The Hetherington House team of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Diversional Therapists, Domestic and Administration team strive to ensure the residents are cared for in a homely environment.
Our goal is that residents live in an atmosphere of respect and friendliness and that they have their physical and psychological needs met regardless of culture, race or creed.

Rest Home Care

Our caring staff provide an environment that respects our Residents independence , while offering quality care. We are committed to serving healthy and delicious food that is as close to being home-made as possible. Our menu is designed by a dietitian and we cater for all dietary requirements. Enjoy sitting in one of the lounges relaxing, or walk through the lovely gardens, or even take part in some or all of the activities.

Amidst homely,comforting surroundings, our highly qualified and caring staff provide round the clock nursing care for Residents with significant disabilities or medical conditions. Supported by the GP's in Waihi and a physiotherapist our team ensures that each and every Resident's needs are catered for.

Secure Dementia Unit

We create a loving warm and homely atmosphere, where each person is supported to experience each moment richly. Our staff are trained in Dementia care and we hold meetings every two months for family members, to assist and support them.

Respite Care

Respite Care Respite care is short-term care provided in a rest home. It is usually to give the person caring for you a break. In some circumstances, you can use it to have a break if you live alone.
