Jessica's Wig Salon
Cancer Network Group Service
We specialise in high quality wigs and hairpieces for all causes of hair loss including alopecia, female pattern baldness, chemotherapy and other medical treatments.
We absolutely love what we do and we love making our clients feel at home. We try our best to make it a fun and uplifting experience, and also provide hugs (if needed).
It can be a really tough time for people, so sensitivity is also needed. Since we both have personal experience with hair loss we know how hard it can be.
With hundreds of wigs, hairpieces and head wear we will help you to select the perfect items, so that you leave looking fabulous and feeling confident. We can also manage your government subsidy claim too.
Originally from the UK, I married a Kiwi and now feel very much at home in New Zealand.
My family have been customers of Jessica’s Wig Salon for many years, and have always appreciated the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and great selection of wigs on offer. So, when the business came up for sale in 2016 I felt that the natural decision was to buy Jessica’s, so that the legacy created over the past 39 years would continue.
I am passionate about the subject of hair loss, and dedicated to providing clients with a caring environment, in which they can feel comfortable talking about their personal journey.
Outside work, I enjoy kayaking, spending time in the kitchen (with mixed results!), taking photos of my cats and walking on the beach with my ‘other half’.
I’m a born and bred kiwi lass. I’ve travelled and worked overseas and have a varied work history from event management to Occupational Therapy.
As an Occupational Therapist I have worked with people with physical and mental health challenges. This taught me a great deal about the importance of creating an environment in which people feel safe, supported and can express themselves.
I also have personal experience with hair loss. Through my own journey I have gained a wealth of knowledge of hair loss due to stress, hormonal changes and female pattern baldness. I understand the distress hair loss can cause women.
I feel very lucky to be able to bring a smile to people’s faces and make a difference. It’s truly amazing what the right wig can do for someone's self-confidence and overall well-being.
I’m based in the shop during the week and I’m very happy to see you in your home or by appointment on the weekend.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
