ACC Rongoā Māori

ACC recognise rongoā Māori as a kaupapa Māori service. It's culturally grounded care that weaves tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, te reo Māori, and te ao Māori through all aspects of the service. We respect that these aspects embrace ngā taonga tuku iho (intergenerational gifts and knowledge handed down from tupuna Māori). We see rongoā Māori in the wider context of traditional Māori healing methodologies.

At Manawa Ora we practice mirimiri and romiromi; traditional Māori bodywork and healing (not massage).  We work comfortably through clothing, and we work as a team in an open space.  We have both male and female practitioners and you will be assigned a practitioner on the day of your appointment.  We will take the time to ensure you understand the tikanga of our whare before commencing your healing process.  We treat both Māori and non-Māori.  

If you would like a referral to Manawa Ora, please contact ACC, request Rongoā Māori treatment with us and quote our Vendor number: VBB733.  Once we have the referral from ACC, we contact you to book you in.  PLEASE NOTE: Due to capacity we are currently accepting only physical and mental injury claims, not sensitive claims or birthing injuries.
