Te Kora o Mahuika

ACC-registered Rongoā Māori Service, Kaupapa Māori

Description

Te Kora o Mahuika is an ACC registered Rongoā Māori practitioner based in the Waikato.

Lynette Stafford, owner of Te Kora O Mahuika, is an ACC-registered Rongoā Māori practitioner, combining the mirimiri rongoa with neuro-muscular release of the Emmett Technique. Her approach supports healing for the body, mind, and spirit—restoring balance through culturally grounded, non-invasive methods.

We proudly accept ACC referrals with no surcharge, providing accessible care for those recovering from injury, tension, or long-term pain.

Lynette is also a registered provider with Southern Cross Health Insurance. Coverage varies depending on individual policy agreements, so clients are advised to contact Southern Cross to check if a wellness package is part of your policy which covers mirimiri Ronga.

Whether you seek relief from muscular pain, emotional stress, or wish to reconnect with your holistic wellbeing, Lynette offers a respectful, therapeutic space grounded in tikanga Māori and body-mind healing principles.

Services Provided

ACC Rongoā Māori

ACC Rongoā Māori ACC recognise rongoā Māori as a kaupapa Māori service. It's culturally grounded care that weaves tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, te reo Māori, and te ao Māori through all aspects of the service. We respect that these aspects embrace ngā taonga tuku iho (intergenerational gifts and knowledge handed down from tupuna Māori). We see rongoā Māori in the wider context of traditional Māori healing methodologies. ACC don't consider healing techniques from non-Māori cultural traditions, such as reiki or hyperbaric oxygen treatment, part of rongoā Māori. Even if they're provided by rongoā Māori practitioners.
