Breast Cancer Support

Description

Have you experienced a diagnosis of breast cancer, recently or in the past, and would like to speak with someone who understands, knows ‘how it is’ and can provide information and reassurance?

Breast Cancer Support offers community-based services provided by trained volunteers who have a lived experience of breast cancer and can offer peer-based support others. We do not give medical advice however can offer practical, helpful advice, and emotional support.

BCS services include:

  • individual support nationwide (via telephone and online)
  • 'BCS Buddy Mentor' service matches a newly diagnosed person with a trained volunteer for a 4-6 week period
  • monthly 'Cuppa and Chat' online support group (via Zoom)
  • monthly online support group for whānau, caregivers and friends (via Zoom) 
  • Christchurch support group
  • writing workshops
  • an informative website

Staff

Our services are provided by trained vounteers who have 'been there too' and can share their own experiences of breast cancer from a positive, personal perspective.

Our services are free of charge.

8:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Mon – Sun 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM
