Mission:

To champion melanoma prevention, detection and patient care for all people in New Zealand. 

Melanoma New Zealand aims to save lives every day by raising awareness about melanoma prevention and early detection. Our strategies include improving the outcomes for people with melanoma, and to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of melanoma in New Zealand. Melanoma New Zealand provides support for people affected by melanoma along with information on melanoma via its website, publications, meetings, education forums, free spot check events, educational community visits, and one on one interactions. What do we provide?

  • Support for patients/family/whānau/partners including online or over the phone nurse consultations.
  • Counselling services and patient support groups. 
  • Information and resources for patients and family/whānau/partners and health providers.
  •  Community site visits where a dedicated Nurse Educator offers free skin cancer spot checks and education about the importance of early detection and prevention of melanoma.
