RATs - Community Collection Site - Anyone can access

Rapid antigen tests (RATs) can be collected at this site. Pre-ordering is not required.

*  It’s essential that people order and collect a RAT kit if they are a close contact, have cold and flu symptoms, or if they are visiting a vulnerable person.

*  If you have been asked by a health professional or are uncomfortable using a RAT test, COVID-19 PCR tests are available by appointment.

*  It’s really important that anyone awaiting a test result or who is a close contact should be self-isolating and not leaving the house for any reason.

*  If you’re coming to collect RAT kits, you can also collect a RAT kit for each of your household members.

Provides free face masks

This site offers free face masks when people are collecting RATs (subject to availability).

You are alsovable to receive a box of masks when receiving a PCR test (available via appointment).

You will more than likely receive medical masks, however some people may receive N95s as they may be at higher risk of developing severe COVID-19.

Get tested in Taranaki

We encourage anyone with cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms to get tested and to report positive and negative tests. Not only does early detection saves lives, but the more testing we do of people with symptoms, the more accurate our information will be regarding the level of COVID-19 infection in Taranaki. Click here to find out how to report your RAT result.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to a range of other illnesses such as cold and flu. Shortness of breath is a sign of possible pneumonia and requires immediate medical attention. Symptoms include:

  • a cough
  • a high temperature (at least 38°C)
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • sneezing and runny nose
  • temporary loss of smell.

Having any of these symptoms does not necessarily mean you have COVID-19, but please self-isolate and get tested straight away even if you have a sniffle or a slight sore throat. It is best to be on the safe side. If you test positive, please follow the isolation guidelines set out on the Unite against COVID-19 website: If you have COVID-19 | Unite against COVID-19 (covid19.govt.nz)
