Description

Starfish Social Services is a not-for-profit community based service which specialises in professional therapeutic services; psychology, counselling, social work for children, youth and families in Matamata. Starfish also offer district wide (Matamata/Piako) programmes which inlcude youth services, adults into work, and licensing. Through our local heartlands service we strive to provide access to Government and community services connecting people, and creating opportunity to build positive relationships between people and services. 

 Our service is open to all, and we exist to help work through life’s challenges. 

We work to reduce any risk that may be present and enhance wellbeing. Support can be one-on-one or in a group, through services such as counselling, mentoring, social work, family harm prevention and suicide prevention. 

Staff

Our team consists of youth service workers, counsellors, social workers, psychologist and mentors who are highly trained professionals. Services are supported by an Admin /Finance team, operations lead and CE
