Description

The Loft is a way for the people of Canterbury to access a wide range of health and wellbeing services. Located on the first floor of the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Christchurch’s eastern suburbs, The Loft is a purpose-built space that is home to a broad range of social and community services.

The Loft exists to support the safety and overall wellbeing of children, young people and their families. Here you can more easily access support from multiple services, working together in one shared space.

Walk in

You can drop into The Loft between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, and ask to speak to a Kaitūhono Hapori/Community Connector. 
We can often see people immediately, but please be aware there may be a wait.

The Loft provides a comprehensive range of community and social wellbeing services that support children, families and the community. Services include family and sexual violence services, parenting support, mental health services, financial and budgeting support, and more.

Abuse and violence support

The Loft partners with Aviva to provide support to people of all ages, genders and ethnicities to live free from family or sexual violence/abuse. They support people who have experienced violence, and those who use it, to create healthy relationships and brighter futures.

Asian services

Asian Family Services is the only provider for Asian people who are affected by gambling harm/mental health issue in New Zealand. Asian Family Services was established in 1998 to provide counselling, public health education and support for all Asians

Budgeting and help with debt

The Loft partners with Aviva Goodloans to provide no and low interest loans to people on limited incomes. These loans are provided through Good Shepherd NZ and we are committed to safe & affordable lending. They also partner with Kingdom Resources’ to provide free financial mentoring and advice.

Support for Refugees

The Loft partners with Christchurch Resettlement Services to support people from refugee and migrant backgrounds living in Christchurch to settle successfully in New Zealand by providing a range of professional services that build on strengths to promote wellbeing.

The Loft partners with Enabling Good Lives (EGL) is a new approach to supporting disabled people that offers greater choice and control over the supports they receive, so that they can plan for the lives they want.

The Loft partners with Citizens Advice Bureau to provide clients with information, and discuss a strategy or plan of how to address their issues or needs.

Pacific People

The Loft partners with Mapu Maia who provide a holistic service to individuals, families and communities that is culturally appropriate and effective. They offer free, professional and confidential counselling services and education. We also partner with Pacific Peoples Trust who support financial literacy / capability.
