Disabilities Resource Centre Southland
Community Health Service
Our service aims to provide an accurate information service to people with disabilities, their families, caregivers and the community. We also sell and hire out adaptive equipment and daily living aids. We assist access to existing services from voluntary agencies and government departments, and encourage and promote peer support groups and self-advocacy of people with disabilities, families and caregivers.
The Centre is an assessment agency for the Total Mobility taxi scheme which enables people to obtain discounted taxi travel. We also have a hospital courtesy van to get people living within the Invercargill town boundary to and from hospital appointments.
