Home support

We know how important it is to maintain independence and dignity. That’s why we provide high quality professional Home Care Services, helping to keep our clients in their own homes and improving their quality of life. Our friendly Support Workers are trained to provide safe, dignified and culturally appropriate care, giving you and your family peace of mind. Services You might be recovering from an accident or surgery and just need a bit of help until you are back on your feet. You might need ongoing support because of a disability which makes household or personal tasks difficult. Or you might have a loved one who would benefit from a little extra assistance. Either way, we can help. Our Home Care services fall into three categories: Household Management – such as vacuuming and tidying, laundry, ironing, meal preparation and shopping Personal Care – such as assistance with eating, showering, bathing, hair washing, toileting and personal grooming Sleepovers – assistance with household and personal tasks for up to 12 hours overnight such as getting to bed, trips to the bathroom, getting out of bed, making breakfast Our Home Care team will consult with you and your family to develop a plan and tailor our services to suit your needs and your lifestyle. Most of our clients are eligible to receive free care funded by ACC, the District Health Board or the Ministry of Health.

Services

You might be recovering from an accident or surgery and just need a bit of help until you are back on your feet.  You might need ongoing support because of a disability which makes household or personal tasks difficult.  Or you might have a loved one who would benefit from a little extra assistance.  Either way, we can help.

Our Home Care services fall into three categories:

  • Household Management – such as vacuuming and tidying, laundry, ironing, meal preparation and shopping

  • Personal Care – such as assistance with eating, showering, bathing, hair washing, toileting and personal grooming

  • Sleepovers – assistance with household and personal tasks for up to 12 hours overnight such as getting to bed, trips to the bathroom, getting out of bed, making breakfast

Our Home Care team will consult with you and your family to develop a plan and tailor our services to suit your needs and your lifestyle. 

Most of our clients are eligible to receive free care funded by ACC, the District Health Board or the Ministry of Health.

We are a one-stop shop for disability information, with knowledge and resources about all things disability in one place. Our current staff are: Brain Injury Liaison Officer Post-Polio Liaison Officer Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Liaison Officer We also run an eight-week Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme.

Supported Independent Living

Being independent is a really important part of feeling proud and in charge of the life you lead. Our Supported Independent Living service aims to provide support where people need it most, so that they can learn to live independently. Maybe you are a great cook, but have trouble looking after money and paying bills. No problem, our Support Workers will encourage your strengths and identify areas where you need a little help. You will be supported to learn new skills that will help you navigate everyday life and achieve your goals. The Supported Living Service is designed to: Enable disabled people to live in their own homes Develop relevant skills Develop and access community resources Actively participate in their community Define and achieve their goals Experience autonomy on an equal basis to others

You might want to find work and need help creating a CV, or you might want to meet new people by taking an art class or checking out the Community Garden. The Vocational Service will support you to put yourself out there, have fun and achieve your goals. Our Community Programmes Co-ordinator organises regular events and activities, which are great ways to meet new people, have fun and learn new skills. You could be taking part in all sorts of great activities: Art and music classes Playing pool at the local RSA Going horse-riding Playing badminton Helping out at the Community Garden ‘Tasters’ – an exciting new mystery event, each month
