Community Health Service
Harbour Sport partners in health and physical activity. Green Prescription is a nationwide programme that motivates sedentary adults (18 years and older) to become active. Patients that would benefit from an exercise programme are referred to us by the general practice team (doctor or practice nurse), or any other health professional.
GRx offers 3-4 months of support to assist with your motivation and provides all the information needed to lead an independently active lifestyle.
- Aged ≥ 18 years
- Waitemata DHB Geographical boundaries: North Shore, Rodney, Hibiscus Coast and Waitakere
- Currently inactive (less than 2.5 hours per week)
- Have a stable medical/ mental condition that could benefit from regular physical activity.
- Are at risk of developing a medical condition due to a sedentary lifestyle
- Ready to make changes to their lifestyle and consents to being referred
How do I access this service?
We have Asian community advisors who provide support, connections in the community and activities for Asian families, adults and older adults in the community.
We have Maori staff who provide support, connections in the community and activities for Maori families, adults and older adults in the community.
Mother and child
We cater for women who need support during and after pregnancy.
We provide specialised exercise programmes and appropriate exercise programmes/classes in the community and retirement villages for older adults.
Pacific Island people
We have a Pacific Island community advisor who provides programmes for Pacific Island families, adults and older adults in the community.
Wellness / healthy lifestyle
We provide support for people once they have finished rehabilitation programmes. This support includes goal setting for healthy eating and exercise programmes.

We are a free service; however the organisations that we refer on to (e.g. gyms) will have a charge associated.
