Hospice Marlborough remains focused on increasing services out into the community, providing services earlier upstream to meet the increasing Marlborough community demand and we work collaboratively with our primary care colleagues and other community support agencies. Valuing individual cultural and diverse differences, Hospice Marlborough is also weaving the Mauri Mate Framework for Hospices into our approach. to show our commitment to equality and biculturalism in practice with all age groups and ethnicities especially Māori and Pasifika.
As a charitable organisation that receives just over 50% funding from Te Whatu Ora, any resulting shortfall is due to the ongoing support of our community buying from our Charity shops, donating money/items, volunteering time, offering services in-kind, leaving bequests, or participating in our events. This continued community support and generosity enables us to provide all our services across Marlborough.
