Description

Mana Kidz is a free, nurse-led, school-based programme that provides comprehensive healthcare for children in the Counties Manukau Health region. The programme is led by the National Hauora Coalition in partnership with Counties Manukau Health and is supported by local providers: Kidz First, Tāmaki Health Care, Pasefika Family Health Group, Turuki Health Care, Te Hononga O Tāmaki Me Hoturoa, South Seas, Tongan Health Society and Kootuitui/Papakura Marae.

Starting in July 2012, Mana Kidz clinics now operate in 88 primary and intermediate schools in the Otara, Mangere, Manurewa, Franklin and Papakura communities. 59 school clinics have a registered nurse and whānau support worker providing healthcare daily which includes rheumatic fever prevention services, skin infection treatment and management and health assessments. 29 school clinics have a registered nurse in weekly (or according to the schools need) who provides child health assessments and management.
