Service delivery during COVID-19

Level 4

No home visits or support groups - our MS Resource Nurse is working from home. Each patient has been contacted by phone and for those needing more regular contact, a volunteer “Caring Caller” is in place to phone just for a friendly chat. Our MS Resource Nurse is easily contactable for information, advice and support and each patient is aware of this. 
There has been regular information regarding Covid-19 from MS National which has been e-mailed/mailed to all patients with MS.
Our MS Resource Nurse has regular contact with Lakes DHB Neurology regarding MS patients we both have under our umbrella – either already on DMT (Disease Modifying Treatment) or those under the Neurology service.     

Level 3

Each patient will again be contacted by phone or e-mail.  Our “Caring Caller” is doing a great job contacting those enjoying a regular friendly chat. Our MS Resource Nurse is easily contactable for information, advice and support and each patient is aware of this. 
All updated information regarding Covid-19 from MS National continues to be forwarded via e-mail or mail to all patients with MS.
Our MS Resource Nurse has regular contact with Lakes DHB Neurology regarding MS patients we both have under our umbrella – either already on DMT (Disease Modifying Treatment) or those under the Neurology service.
MS Newsletter will go to all patients with encouraging, positive information.

No home visits or support groups - our MS Nurse is now working from home.  Each patient will again have regular contact by phone or e-mail.  Our “Caring Caller” is still happy to contact those enjoying a regular friendly chat.
Our Nurse is easily contactable for information, advice and support and each patient is aware of this.  All updated information regarding Covid-19 from MS National continues to be forwarded via e-mail or mail to all patients with MS. Our Nurse has regular contact with the Neurology CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist) regarding MS patients we both have under our umbrella – either already on DMT (Disease Modifying Treatment) or those under the Neurology service.
Our MS Newsletter will continue 3 monthly to all patients with encouraging, positive information & notification of services offered.      

Level 1

While our MS Nurse will now continue working from home, regular home visits and monthly support groups will once again take place. Those who don't come along to support groups will continue to have regular contact by phone or e-mail. Our “Caring Caller” will continue to contact those enjoying a regular friendly chat.
Our Nurse is easily contactable for information, advice and support and each patient is aware of this. All updated information regarding Covid-19 from MS National continues to be forwarded via e-mail or mail to all patients with MS. Multiple Sclerosis Rotorua provides a range of free services to all people living with MS and their families, friends, and care providers. Our field workers provide individual support including home visits, referrals to appropriate health services, counselling, and referrals to a range of other services.

We provide information aimed at supporting people to keep up to date and live as best as they can with their condition. Our field workers facilitate support and networking groups and referrals to professional counselling. 

A registered nurse is trained in Disease Modifying Treatments and can provide support, advice and information.
