Service delivery during COVID-19

Alert Level Service Delivery
Level 4

No home visits or support groups - the Field Worker is based at  home. Each person  will be  contacted by phone and for those needing more regular contact, a volunteer “Caring Caller” put in place to phone just for a friendly chat. The Field Worker is easily contactable for information, advice and support.  
Any information  regarding Covid-19 from MS National is  e-mailed/mailed to all people with MS in the district.
The Field Worker  has regular contact with Lakes DHB Neurology regarding people with MS in the district  who are  already on DMT (Disease Modifying Treatment) or under the Neurology service.     

Level 3

All updated information regarding Covid-19 from MS National will  be forwarded via e-mail or mail to all people  with MS in the district.

The Field Worker has regular contact with the Neurology CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist) regarding people with MS who are either already on DMT (Disease Modifying Treatment) or under the Neurology service.
 The 3 monthly Society  newsletter containing encouraging, positve information and notification  of services will be emailed or mailed to all our people with MS in the district.

Multiple Sclerosis Rotorua provides a range of free services to all people living with MS and their families, friends, and care providers. Our field workers provide individual support including home visits, referrals to appropriate health services, counselling, and referrals to a range of other services.

We provide information aimed at supporting people to keep up to date and live as best as they can with their condition. Our field workers facilitate support and networking groups and referrals to professional counselling.
