Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is an important step you can take to protect yourself, your kaumātua and whānau from the effects of the virus. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccines and eligibility visit Ministry of Health - COVID-19 vaccines Covid-19 vaccines can be administered before, after, or at the same time as other national schedule vaccines. When the Nuvaxovid vaccine is given at the same time as the Shingrix shingles vaccine or the Fluad Quad flu vaccine, there may be a chance of experiencing a stronger post-vaccination response and you should discuss this with your vaccinator. Everyone in New Zealand, aged 5 and over is eligible for their free COVID-19 vaccine. If you have had COVID-19, you should wait 3 months after testing positive before getting any COVID-19 vaccination. Aged 6 months - 4 years Richmond Vaccination Centre - Sunday to Thursday only Nelson Vaccination Centre - Tuesdays only Book an appointment at a time that suits via the Book My Vaccine website website. Aged 5-11 years Available 7 days/week. Walk-ins are available for tamariki aged between 5-11 years. You can also book an appointment at a time that suits via the Book My Vaccine website website. Boosters Available 7 days/week. The Pfizer vaccine is the primary vaccine being used in New Zealand for booster doses, even if you had a different vaccine for your earlier doses.
