Nurse Maude Hospice provides short term inpatient care (usually 1-2 weeks) for complex symptom management or care in the last days of life if care at home is no longer possible. The hospice is not able to provide long term care but our staff are able to help family/whānau to consider long term care options.
Our specialist palliative care team are skilled in monitoring and supporting patients at home, helping with pain and other symptoms causing concern. The team works alongside general practitioners, district nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals to provide the best possible care.
We also have a team of specialist nurses who provide support, advice and education to all Aged Residential Care Facilities in Waitaha Canterbury.
